HIP

Hip replacement surgery, or total hip arthroplasty, is a procedure that replaces a damaged or deteriorated hip joint with an artificial implant. It is commonly recommended for individuals with severe osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, hip fractures, or degenerative joint disease. The primary objective of this surgery is to alleviate pain, enhance mobility, and improve overall quality of life.

Hip arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat various hip joint conditions. By inserting a small camera (arthroscope) and specialized instruments through tiny incisions, surgeons can repair damaged tissue, remove bone spurs, and address hip impingement—eliminating the need for open surgery.

A hip labral tear is a cartilage injury affecting the labrum, the ring of tissue that stabilizes and cushions the hip joint. This condition can lead to hip pain, stiffness, and restricted movement, commonly impacting athletes, active individuals, and those with hip abnormalities such as Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI).

Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) occurs when abnormal bone growth in the hip joint creates friction between the femoral head (thigh bone) and acetabulum (hip socket). This persistent friction can cause pain, stiffness, and cartilage damage, increasing the likelihood of hip labral tears and early-onset arthritis.
